PSR Solutions is currently recruiting for a skilled Estimator for an exciting office-based opportunity in Southwest London. Job role: Estimator

Salary: £44,000 - £50,000

Duration: Permanent

Location: Fulham, Southwest London


Estimator responsibilities:

  • Take charge of tendering processes, managing resources, and applying strong commercial insight and expertise.
  • Spot opportunities to enhance value and mitigate risks, proposing solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee the tender process, ensuring thorough monitoring and providing progress reports via the estimating plan.
  • Lead the pricing process, fostering collaboration across disciplines with accurate reporting and consistent internal communication on tenders.
  • Head up the supply chain inquiry process.
  • Participate in both pre-tender and post-tender interviews with internal management and clients, as well as internal adjudication and tender progress meetings.
  • Actively maintain cost control by assisting with current quotations, framework rates, and ensuring costs, timelines, and quality meet defined targets.
  • Develop a comprehensive control document for handover to the delivery team.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with other sections of the Logistics Department to ensure excellent support.
  • Adhere to the company’s Quality, Environmental, and Safety Management System standards, working to achieve set objectives.
  • Cooperate on health and safety matters, follow provided training, and ensure personal and others' safety at all times.
  • Provide regular progress updates to the Head of Logistics.
  • Carry out any other tasks related to the Estimator role as needed.


Estimator Skills/Experience/Qualifications:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Construction or Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a Junior Estimator or gaining industry knowledge in a relevant field
  • Excellent IT skills – proficient in Microsoft suite of programmes (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Demonstrates strong commercial awareness and a deep understanding, or eagerness to learn, all aspects of the construction process.
  • Capable of developing and adhering to well-defined processes.
  • Highly methodical, analytical, and well-organised with a keen eye for detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Friendly, approachable, and an effective collaborator within a team.
  • Receptive to feedback, with a genuine desire to learn and grow.
  • Proficient in conducting measurement exercises, including preparing Bills of Quantities.
