Facilities Manager

Salary: £65,000 per annum

Job Type: Full-time; 35 hours per week (Based on-site. There will be some days where early mornings are required).

Location: Vauxhall Nine Elms, London SW8


Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for CGMA’s adherence to all health and safety legislation.

• Support CGMA in meeting its annual cost of capital expenditure.

• Support CGMA in fulfilling its statutory duty to operate a bulk horticultural market.

• Identify and develop value-added services for the tenants.

• Foster a good relationship with all CGMA stakeholders.

• Attend and represent CGMA at Statutory Committee meetings as requested.

• Develop and maintain a mutually respectful relationship with market tenants.

• Support the Senior Market Operations Manager and the Head Business Operations, Engagement and IT in providing Board papers when appropriate.

• Supporting the Senior Market Operation Manager and wider leadership team when required to procure cost effective services to agreed service and quality specifications for.

- Capital projects.

- Building and estate maintenance

- Management of utilities

- Deliver service standards for all areas of Operations.

- Traffic management

- Security

- Cleaning, waste management and recycling

- Pest control and general hygiene

- Parking contracts.

- Ensure CGMA meets its obligations under:

- Health & safety

- Workplace transport and vehicle safety

- Environmental

- Asbestos and Legionella

- Fire and electrical safety

• Support the Senior Market Operations Manager when requested to ensure safe working practices are carried out by market tenants, suppliers, and customers.

• Managing tenant compliance information for health and safety and maintenance

• Build positive business relationships with the tenants.

• Ensure the In-House Operations Admin Team can respond to emergency situations and urgent issues (crisis management) in line with the CGMA business continuity arrangements.

• Engage with external stakeholders such as adjoining landowners and local authorities as appropriate.

• Manage development and implementation of CGMA’s environmental and sustainability policy.

• Manage procurement and contract tendering process in line with SFI’s.

• Maintain comprehensive supplier records on terms, conditions, renewal dates, KPI’s, SLA’s).

• Effect business contingency planning for Operations’ functions.

• Undertake assigned responsibilities in line of CGMA’s Business Continuity Plan.

• Manage internal controls to support effective and efficient management of CGMA resources.

• Assist with the management and review of the service charge.

• Review of departmental and corporate policies and processes where required in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.


Skills / Experience

• Experience of managing multi-discipline Facilities Management contracts against well-defined SLAs and KPIs.

• Facilities Management qualification(s) e.g. IWFM

• Health and safety qualifications (NEBOSH/IOSH)

• Facilities management / supplier management experience.

• Able to develop and maintain productive working relationships within the organisation and with a wide range of external stakeholders.

• Able to engender a client relationship management approach to delivery of services.

• Strong management skills including organisation, time management, project management, line management.

• Experience of maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Knowledge of public sector tendering processes including FTS

• Systematic and organised.

• Strategic skills including ability to take a 'big picture' view across a range of different and competing initiatives.

• IT literate

• Negotiation, oversight, and management of third-party contracts.

• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.

• Decisive and results driven.

• Project and budget management skills.

• Able to develop and maintain productive working relationships within the organisation and with a wide range of external stakeholders.

• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation and how it applies in the context of the Market.
