My client is a leading civil engineering contractor who are experts in earthworks and site preparation, substructure works, drainage, reinforced concrete, external works and surfacing. Due to a strong pipeline of secured commercial projects, they are now seeking an experienced Site Manager to join their team.

The Company:

My client is a highly regarded specialist within the civil engineering sector, with an outstanding reputation for delivering complex groundwork and infrastructure packages on commercial new build developments. Their expertise spans the full range of groundwork operations, from early site preparation through to external works and final surfacing.

The Role:

As Site Manager, you will take full control of all groundwork operations on-site, reporting directly to the Project Manager or Contracts Manager. Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing full site clearance, earthworks and enabling works
• Managing all excavation, foundations and substructure packages
• Installation of drainage and associated infrastructure
• Delivery of reinforced concrete works
• Supervision of roads, kerbs, hard and soft landscaping and all external works
• Coordination of plant, direct labour and subcontractors
• Managing health, safety, environmental and quality compliance on-site
• Leading daily site operations, ensuring works are delivered to specification, on programme and within budget
• Acting as the key point of contact between site teams, client representatives and senior management

The Person:

They are looking for a career-focused Site Manager who has dedicated their working life to the groundworks and civil engineering industry. The successful candidate will have:

• 10+ years of continuous experience in groundworks and related disciplines
• A solid background managing the full groundworks package on commercial new build projects, such as warehouses, retail developments, or large industrial units
• Exceptional technical knowledge across earthworks, drainage, RC works, roads, landscaping and surfacing
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
• The ability to proactively solve site issues and drive productivity
• A full understanding of construction drawings and specifications

Essential Certifications:

• SMSTS
• CSCS Black Card
• First Aid at Work
