Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction / Site Manager (E&I) to oversee electrical and instrumentation installation on a major industrial project in Thurrock, Essex. This role requires strong leadership and expertise in managing large-scale industrial, power generation, or oil & gas projects.

Contract: 12 - 18 months

Rate: £450/day

Schedule: 4 x 10-hour days (Monday-Thursday) + 5 hours on Friday

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead site-based E&I construction activities, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and project timelines.
• Oversee labour, subcontractors, and resource allocation to optimise efficiency.
• Manage HSE compliance, project controls, cost tracking, and reporting.
• Ensure technical compliance, inspections, pre-commissioning, and handovers.
• Act as the main client interface, attending meetings and providing progress updates.

Requirements:

• 10+ years’ experience in power generation, oil & gas, or heavy industrial sectors.
• Proven leadership and site management skills.
• Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, cost control, and risk management.
• Electrical trade background or relevant engineering qualification.
