About the Role:
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the execution of projects of Pulse Clean Energy’s battery energy platform, from the Project acquisition to PAC ensuring all project construction and management aspects are successfully driven. The role will report to the Senior Project Manager and will work closely with the Director of Asset Delivery.
This is a hybrid role and will involve regular travel to project sites across the UK, as well as to our office in London.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and gain approval for project execution plans, schedule and budget and then pro-actively manage projects in line with the agreed criteria.
· With support from the Pulse procurement and commercial managers, identify and procure appropriate partners for the project’s requirements.
· Act as the contract manager, and primary point of contact for the project’s supply chain including construction contractors, designers and client-side advisors;
· Actively manage construction contractors and equipment suppliers, to ensure contractual obligations are met and key milestones are achieved.
· Manage the service performance of consultants appointed including technical partners, health and safety (H&S) support, and environmental advisors.
· Liaise with Pulse specialists in planning and consents, land acquisition and grid connections to maintain progress on all project development activities, (including discharge of planning conditions, lease and easement arrangements and DNO milestone achievement)
· With support from Pulse’s technical team, ensure that engineering/design is fully coordinated and development progresses in line with requirements
· Oversee any site investigation and survey works required to better understand the site(s)
· Manage the relationship with, and the works of the relevant DNO, holding regular meetings to coordinate technical and commercial matters related to the connection agreement.
· Liaise with all external project stakeholders (e.g. landowners) to support coordination activities and gain positive support for the projects
· Ensure that H&S practices are applied and adhered to by all parties and contribute to the ongoing development of a strong H&S culture within Pulse.
· Ownership of project activities within all Pulse internal governance and administration processes, including for financial management, insurances and investment decisions
· Visit project site(s) regularly to engage with contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
· Preparation of all project reporting, document management and record-keeping in line with PMO requirements..
· Take responsibility for maintaining the project risk register, proactively identifying risks and opportunities and take actions to manage these.
What you need to succeed:
· 5 year’s proven experience as a Project Manager in the Construction industry
· Previous energy sector-based experience is required, and experience working with the UK Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) would also be beneficial
· Degree or professional qualification in a relevant discipline (eg electrical or mechanical engineering, project management etc)
· Experienced in deploying project management tools, techniques and systems
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels
· Organised, ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.
· Continuous improvement mindset with the enthusiasm & drive to work in a high growth environment.
· A willingness to take ownership of projects and drive progress with a hands-on approach
