Architect (Client-Facing Role) – High-End Residential Focus

£35,000 - £45,000 DOE + 10% Commission on All Project Fees Won

Must Be Based in Birmingham – Covering Midlands, London & South Coast (Hybrid working)

An ambitious architecture and construction practice is looking to appoint an Architect with a desire to transition into a client-facing role, supporting their continued growth across the Midlands, London, and South Coast regions.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Architect who enjoys relationship-building and is keen to move into a more commercial, business development-oriented position. You’ll still be rooted in your architectural expertise but with a focus on nurturing client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and helping drive the business forward.

The ideal candidate will come from an architecture background, ideally with experience in high-end/private residential projects, and is now looking to apply those skills in a client-facing, business development capacity.

What’s on Offer:

• Competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 DOE
• 10% commission on all project fees won (e.g. a project with an £8,000 fee would generate £800 commission on top of your salary)
• Ongoing support and training to develop your commercial, business development, and client relationship skills
• Opportunity to work alongside RIBA Chartered Architects and construction professionals
• Initially remote, moving to a hybrid model with 1-2 days per week in a shared workspace
• Flexibility to travel across regions as required (Midlands, London, South Coast)

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and first point of contact
• Develop existing client accounts while identifying and converting new business opportunities
• Attend networking events, exhibitions, and client meetings to promote the practice’s services
• Build a strong pipeline of projects across the residential and commercial sectors
• Collaborate with the internal team on proposals, feasibility studies, and early-stage project planning
• Support senior management in driving strategic growth and expanding the practice’s client base

Desirable Experience:

• Must be based in the UK with experience working in the UK market
• Must have the right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available)
• Based in Birmingham and willing to travel across the Midlands, London, and South Coast as needed
• Architectural background is essential – Part 2 qualified minimum with experience in UK architecture practices
• Experience working on high-end/private residential projects is highly desirable
• Candidates looking to pivot from architecture into a client-facing, account management/business development role will be prioritised
• Strong communication skills with a consultative, solutions-led approach
• Comfortable discussing project scopes, budgets, and timelines with clients and stakeholders
• Familiarity with feasibility studies, project processes, and early-stage project development (training provided if needed)
