Job Description: Site Manager

Location: Bristol

On behalf of my client, I am actively recruiting for a Contracts Manager to work on an ongoing project in Bristol.

My Client is a multidisciplinary construction company working as Main Contractor, delivering an abundance of high end projects across Ireland and the UK.

The Project is running for a minimum of five years, working on multi million pound Office Buildings.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager/Project Manager, the Site Manager will be responsible for the planning, execution and delivery of a building project. They are responsible for overseeing all site activities through to completion in terms of safety, time, cost and quality. They will also manage and lead other members of the site construction team through delegating the appropriate areas of responsibility to each individual team member.

Duties and responsibilities

1. Responsible for the co-ordination and control of the project from the design stage, through to completion and the handover of the project to the client.
2. Day to day management of operations on site, ensuring that the project is brought to a successful completion and meets the required time, budget and quality constraints.
3. Ensuring timely management of any unforeseen delays.
4. Regular monitoring and liaison with the Contracts Manager/Project Manager on the Master Programme and development of stage/section programmes as required.
5. Liaise with the Contracts Manager/Project Manager to ensure adequate labour and sub-contract resource is available on site utilising the agreed agency list.
6. Carry out tool box briefings to the site teams and sub-contractors.
7. Plan and efficiently organise the site facilities and logistics, ensuring all equipment on site is fit for purpose and only operated by appropriately trained staff
8. Requisition all materials, and oversee the deliveries and ensure they are done so in adequate time in line with the construction programme and procurement schedule.
9. Effectively communicate with the Design Team to ensure the timely release of design information.
10. Ensure site team and sub-contractors are following common operational standards.
11. Maintain close relations with the Contracts Manager/Project Manager and Contract Surveyor regarding cost control, waste management, variations and Confirmation of Instructions.

The Person

• 5 Years’ experience of planning, directing and co-ordination of projects on site
• 3 years’ experience successfully managing and co-ordinating teams on a large scale as well as a team of multiple disciplines
• Proven track record of monitoring subcontractors
• Experience in each phase of a construction project
• Management of client expectations
• Preparing and presenting reports to Management and Clients
