About the job

Description

Are you seeking a rewarding role where your leadership and technical skills will drive meaningful progress on a nationally significant infrastructure project? Join our clients growing team working at the forefront of the UK’s transition to Net Zero. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to one of the country’s largest and most complex megaprojects — a project that will provide dependable, low-carbon electricity to millions of homes for decades to come.

As part of a major nuclear new build programme, our client is entering a dynamic phase of delivery. With planning approval secured and construction already underway, their focus is now on delivering infrastructure that supports long-term energy resilience, sustainability, and economic development.

We're looking for a Project Manager Ancillary Works Interface who will be responsible for managing the interface between ancillary (supporting) works and the main construction activities on a complex infrastructure project. This includes coordinating with design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure timely delivery of enabling infrastructure such as temporary roads, utilities, fencing, drainage, welfare facilities, and environmental mitigation measures.

The role ensures these supporting works are aligned with the project schedule, budget, and quality requirements, enabling safe, smooth, and efficient delivery of the broader construction programme.

Key Responsibilities to include;

  • Plan and coordinate the delivery of ancillary works packages, including access roads, site utilities, early infrastructure, and enabling works.
  • Manage interfaces between ancillary works and core civil/structural delivery teams (e.g. tunnelling, foundations, earthworks).
  • Work closely with Responsible Designers, Contractors, and Site Operations to ensure site access, logistics, and temporary facilities are delivered in time.
  • Ensure integration of ancillary works into the master construction schedule.
  • Resolve conflicts between different packages or access requirements by facilitating cross-team coordination.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders (internal and external) affected by or contributing to ancillary works.
  • Support risk management and mitigation planning for interface issues.
  • Ensure delivery meets HSE, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Key Deliverables;

  • Interface coordination matrix for all ancillary packages
  • Weekly progress and risk reports
  • Early works and enabling works completion aligned with programme milestones
  • Stakeholder sign-off on enabling infrastructure (e.g. access routes, utilities)
  • No disruption to main construction work caused by delays in ancillary work

Essential experience;

  • Strong Project Management capability (preferably registered with APM or similar professional body)
  • Proven experience managing interfaces on large infrastructure or engineering projects
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including coordination across design, construction, and external partners
  • Experience in delivering enabling or ancillary works (e.g. utilities, access, temporary infrastructure)
  • Understanding of HSE regulations, environmental controls, and construction standards
  • Familiarity with project planning tools (e.g. Primavera P6, Microsoft Project)
