The role

We are seeking experienced Estimators to join our growing Pre-Construction team. You will play a critical role in preparing accurate, competitive, and profitable bids for civil engineering projects. Collaborating across departments, you’ll assess project requirements, develop detailed cost breakdowns, and contribute to the success of our tendering process.


Key responsibilities:

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Analysing project drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Managing the end-to-end tendering process from enquiry to bid submission.
  • Attending site visits and client meetings as required.
  • Developing and maintaining strong supplier and subcontractor relationships.
  • Leading or supporting junior estimators depending on experience.
  • Producing clear and accurate documentation for successful contract handover.
  • Supporting process improvement and maintaining up-to-date cost data.

Who you are

You are a commercially astute construction professional with a strong background in estimating within civil engineering, groundworks, or earthworks. You enjoy working as part of a collaborative team and bring analytical rigour, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset to your work.


Key Skills

  • Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in estimating, with senior applicants demonstrating leadership ability.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g. Causeway) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, pricing, and local regulations.
  • Ability to produce BoQs and interpret technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
