Legal Project Manager – Leading Global Law Firm

We’re working in partnership with a prestigious global law firm that is seeking a Legal Project Manager to join their high-performing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior to mid-level lawyer or experienced LPM to step into a strategic, client-facing role that plays a key part in delivering complex legal matters efficiently and profitably.

This firm is known for its innovative approach to legal service delivery and its commitment to providing exceptional client service on high-value, multi-jurisdictional mandates. The Legal Project Manager will be embedded within the firm's Project Management Office (PMO), supporting the legal teams across the full matter lifecycle from planning and execution through to post-matter review.

About the Role:

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work directly with senior legal project managers, partners, and fee earners to help manage some of the firm’s most high-profile and strategically important matters. The focus is on streamlining delivery, improving financial performance, and ensuring a consistent and high-quality client experience. You’ll also be involved in shaping and embedding best practices across the firm’s project management capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the planning phase of legal matters - scoping, budgeting, timelines, and stakeholder coordination
• Coordinating multi-department and cross-border workstreams
• Tracking fees and disbursements, identifying out-of-scope work, and minimising write-offs
• Managing stakeholder communication and ensuring key milestones are met
• Supporting matter reviews, process improvement, and know-how capture
• Contributing to internal training and development of LPM tools and templates

What They’re Looking For:

• Either a qualified lawyer (1–4 PQE ideal) with strong matter management skills, or an experienced legal project manager from a law or professional services firm
• Experience working on complex, high-value client engagements
• Strong commercial awareness and confidence in handling financial metrics (e.g. budgets, run rates, profitability)
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach with excellent organisational and communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Project management qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2) are beneficial but not essential
