Civil Infrastructure Engineer

Contract | Hybrid working (3 days/week in office)

Rate: £40ph-£55ph (Umbrella)

About the Opportunity

We’re supporting a well-established engineering consultancy renowned for its role in major UK building and infrastructure projects. They are currently looking to engage a Civil Infrastructure Engineer on a contract basis to help deliver a pipeline of residential and commercial developments.

This is a hands-on design role where you’ll be responsible for the key components of civil engineering delivery, including drainage, utilities, earthworks, surface treatments (paved and unpaved), site access, and construction logistics. You’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing technical expertise while working with autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

• Design of below-ground drainage, utility layouts, and earthworks
• Detailing of hard and soft surfaces, access, and service routes
• Supporting planning, design, and construction phases
• Coordinating with other design disciplines and consultants
• Producing and reviewing designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering civil infrastructure design on residential and/or commercial developments
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD
• Familiarity with UK design standards and best practice
• Able to work independently and liaise with multidisciplinary teams
• A degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering
• Previous consultancy experience preferred

Additional Information

• Security Clearance:
• Due to the nature of some projects, candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance. This typically means you must have lived in the UK continuously for at least the past 5 years and be able to pass relevant background checks. Holding existing clearance is an advantage.
• Right to Work:
• Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, Skilled Worker visa sponsorship cannot be offered for this role.
