A leading global utilities company are offering the opportunity for an experienced Power Trading Project Manager to join their UK team and deliver complex IT trading initiatives across the UK, wider Europe, and other international markets.


Role Overview

You’ll be delivering large-scale Trading IT programmes, working closely with internal business stakeholders, technology teams, and external vendors. You’ll be responsible for the full project lifecycle – from requirements gathering and planning to implementation and post-go-live support – ensuring seamless delivery of critical ETRM capabilities across multiple geographies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of IT programmes and projects within the energy trading space, with a strong focus on power intraday and day-ahead markets.
  • Manage cross-functional teams across multiple geographies, ensuring clear communication, governance, and alignment to project goals.
  • Partner with traders, analysts, and operations teams to define business requirements and translate them into effective technology solutions.
  • Oversee the implementation, upgrade, or integration of ETRM (Energy Trading & Risk Management) systems and related tools.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and risks, using recognised PM methodologies (Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid).
  • Engage with third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with contracts and service-level agreements.


Required Experience

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale IT projects within the energy trading sector.
  • Strong experience with ETRM platforms (e.g., Endur, Allegro, Trayport, or similar).
  • In-depth knowledge of European power markets, especially intraday and day-ahead trading.
  • Background in both business-facing and technology-driven roles, with the ability to bridge the gap between stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Relevant project management certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile/Scrum) highly desirable


The role is Hybrid in Birmingham with 2/3 days into the office and a salary up to £85k but flexible for the right candidate.
