Description

Job Title: Project Manager – Fire Suppression

Location: London & South East – Hybrid Remote

Salary: £65,000 + 10% Annual Bonus + Package


We are currently working with a specialist fire protection contractor delivering high-spec fire suppression systems, primarily within critical infrastructure environments such as data centres. They are now seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the planning and delivery of fire protection projects from pre-construction through to completion.


This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially aware and technically capable Project Manager to step into a role with real responsibility, hybrid working flexibility, and the chance to work on high-value, fast-paced projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed project budgets prior to procurement and commencement
  • Lead on procurement of labour, materials, plant, and subcontractors in line with cost plans
  • Manage on-site activities including direct labour and subcontractor coordination
  • Process subcontractor payments and prepare final accounts
  • Submit applications for payment and manage ongoing invoicing
  • Track project costs against initial budgets and maintain accurate cost-to-complete records
  • Liaise closely with internal teams (design, sales, and service) to ensure smooth project progression
  • Represent the company professionally to clients and stakeholders
  • Maintain a high standard of health & safety, quality, and professionalism on all sites
  • Provide support to estimating and business development activities where required
  • Monitor competitor activity and industry trends relevant to fire suppression


Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in active fire protection, ideally suppression systems
  • Strong project management and commercial acumen
  • Excellent IT skills – particularly Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Qualifications such as BS5389/BS2660, CSCS, NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management, or NEBOSH (desirable)
  • Confident leading projects and engaging with clients in high-pressure environments
